Dear All,

You all know that Dwarka Kalibari is not only a religious organization but also a social organization that works towards uplifting the poor and downtrodden.

Every year during the winter months we collect clothes from our devotees and distribute them amongst those in need to bring a ray of warmth in the cold, brutal winter.

Poila Boishakh, the Bengali New Year is a cherished festival of new beginnings, and hence every year we try to distribute the saris before this date to bring about a bright spark of new attire to their lives.

As the beginning of the next year gets close we distribute saris to old widows living in Vrindavan, a lot of them are Bengalis. Every year we distribute the saris collected during Durga Puja and this year too we’ll be doing so. We need a total of 400 saris and we have about 130 saris collected during Durga Puja.

We urge you to donate to this noble cause as you’ve always been doing. You may either donate in kind by depositing new saris only at Dwarka Kalibari or online or cheque by donating money in multiples of Rs 400, depending on the number of saris you wish to donate to the poor and needy. This is to be done before 21 March, bank details are attached below.

Come, let’s touch many hearts with kindness.

DKB Durga Puja Competition 2021 – Kobita

Competition Details

Dear members

We Bengalis have a special place in our heart for the magnificent festival, that is, Durga Puja. A celebration of devotion, culture, heritage, delicacies and merry making, this is something, that we await all year long.

As the present day decorum breaks down in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are forced to alter our ways to prevent the spread of this deadly virus.

Like last year, this year too, Durga Puja will take place at the basement of your Kalibari from 11.10.21 (as per the current plan).

New modalities confirming the sanitization and social distancing norms: Only the priests, their helpers, camera crew and a few office bearers/volunteers shall have the access to the basement during rituals.

Restricted entry of devotees will be allowed after the rituals till the curfew timings.

Outdoor events/programs have been abandoned under the prevailing circumstances.

All sponsors shall get MOOL-BHOG, prepared and packed under sanitized conditions, delivered at their residence. Last year, we received praise for the way we were able to manage the distribution of food despite the odds.

The puja rituals will be broadcasted. We will be doing E-pushpanjali like last year.

Devotees are requested to send their donations by bank transfer or by cheques into the drop box kept at Kalibari.

Please note that above modalities are subject to change without prior notice.

In case the present scenario along with government policies change and we are able to book the ground, then puja will take place in the ground.

You are requested to follow subsequent postings for any changes in the plan.

For any queries regarding the above, you may contact any of the following person.

Atish Pathak 9810208418
